LK Bennet Stilettos

LK Bennett… Who Do I Think I Am?

Big day. The new stilettos have arrived.

They’re here to replace my faithful, much-loved, definitely overworked M&S classics. You know the pair — the dependable ones you buy again and again because when you finally find heels that work, you cling to them like your last wig cap.

Side-by-side M&S vs LK Bennet
I think I was on my 4th… maybe 5th pair? Honestly, I stopped counting. They were the heel. And then — betrayal. Discontinued. Just like that. No warning. No counselling offered.

So here I am, apparently an LK Bennett girl now. Who knew? This feels dangerously close to “I summer in the Cotswolds.”

Side-by-side comparison in the photo — heel height is technically the same. But don’t be fooled. The LK Bennetts mean business. The ankle is tighter, and instead of gently flattening off like my M&S comfort blanket, they keep rising and push you forward.

And by forward, I mean forward.

The posture changes instantly. Shoulders back. Hips activated. Suddenly I’m not just walking — I’m making an entrance to my own hallway.

They’re definitely sexier. Slightly less “reliable office heel” and more “I didn’t come here to blend in.” There’s a sharper silhouette, a little more attitude. You can feel it the second you stand up.

Now… the leather. Oh, she’s firm. Proper leather. The kind that says, “You will earn this glamour.” So yes, we are currently in negotiations. There will be pacing around the house. There may be plasters. There will definitely be stubborn refusal to admit I should have taken them off 20 minutes earlier.

Sizing is the usual emotional rollercoaster. Both say “size 8,” but the LK’s are marked 41 and they are snug. 42 would be clown territory. So here I am in that very familiar space many of us know — when your feet are just slightly more… generous than the standard fantasy sizing chart.

But honestly? When they’re on, and I catch that side profile in the mirror? Worth it.

Because sometimes it’s not about comfort. It’s about that little spark when you stand taller, feel sharper, and remember exactly why we put ourselves through this in the first place.

If you’ve ever mourned a discontinued favourite heel, battled EU sizing charts, or stubbornly broken in leather for the sake of looking fabulous… you’ll understand.

Pray for my feet. But also admire the shoes. 💋
